Summa supports Rails Girls Belgrade
At Summa we invest in young talent. This time we are supporting the Rails Girls community in Belgrade. Our Elixir specialist Jovana Sovilj will be coaching a group of 100 girls and women during the Ruby on Rails workshop held from 2-3 December in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Rails Girls Belgrade community was founded in 2013 and fosters Ruby on Rails knowledge sharing. We teach web programming tools to girls and women through workshops and study programs so that they can creatively develop their own technical skills and projects.
Summa invests regularly in young talent who can learn quickly and implement new technologies. We are building our PBX platform and applications in the freshest of the programming languages, Elixir. As an example of Summa’s commitment to invest in our people, a team of young developers from Belgrade recently visited our office to get a full-immersion training for Elixir technology so that they were immediately up-to-speed and able to work on our software.
Ruby and Rails builds upon the same principles as Elixir, a technology that offers immense development, scaling and integration possibilities. Investing in the Ruby on Rails community enables us to promote knowledge and use of this technology among young, motivated developers who could potentially become part of our team. Summa has an exceptional amount of women in our development team and we are proud to support this female-led initiative. Besides sponsoring the workshop, our Elixir developer Jovana Sovilj will also mentor and coach the attendees during the two days of the event.
