Tech Ops Specialist

As a member of our international Technical Operations team, your primary task is to maintain our Operator Online web application. You will manage the infrastructure, from development to production, including web servers, script servers, database servers, load balancers and much more. You collect information from different development teams and coordinate with them regarding bigger infrastructure changes. You plan the capacity of the platform and carry out upgrades. Additionally, you are the point-of-contact for our service desk for any incidents regarding Operator Online. And of course, you continuously try to improve the infrastructure and the processes. Other tasks may include

  • Designing and implementing application environments
  • Technical and Functional management of the in-house build customer portal
  • Monitoring and maintaining availability and performance of existing applications
  • Providing insight into the required infrastructural capacity for current applications
  • Being in charge of the release process
  • Writing and performing recovery/ fail-over procedures

Job requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with managing one or more applications, consisting of multiple components spanning several servers, including high availability
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Willing to participate in an on-call schedule
  • In-depth knowledge of the Linux Operating system as administrator level
  • Able to read and understand PHP scripts
  • Experience with scripting languages like Bash
  • Thorough knowledge of MySQL at administrator level, experience with Galera cluster is a pre
  • Able to identify problems based on incidents
  • You are a go-getter

 Nice to have

  • Some expertise with containers (Docker, lxc, etc.)
  • We use Ansible to deploy infrastructure and the new version of Operator, so any experience is highly recommended
  • GIT
  • Atlassian suite (Jira, bitbucket, etc.)
